Cookbook

Elnor DeBoer Family Cookbook

My other big project this year was making a cookbook for my mother to give to my siblings and her grandchildren. She hand wrote her favorite recipes from June to October then she gave them to me to make a cookbook to give to my brothers and some of her friends for Christmas.
I wanted the cookbooks in her hand writing so I scanned the recipes in and then tried my luck at digital scrapbooking them to make a book that would be cherished for generations to come. A long with her favorite recipes there are helpful hints and family facts so the younger generation know the family history.
The digital images I used were from Jessica Sprague and LivEdesigns. I love their stuff and it was fun putting things together to make the pages! At the end it was getting a little bit stressful due to running out of time! I had the copies printed at the local printing shop then I finished them by putting the tabs and labeling the different sections of the book.
Mom was very happy and so was I with the results!!!
Another Christmas here and gone! ThisChristmas a had a couple of projects that I need to do! The first one is posted above and it is a framed scrapbook page for my sister-in-law. My brother-in-law 's cancer came back after 10 years and he had to undergoing major surgery and now is going through radiation treatments. While in the hospital and under so much pain he looked at me and said don't I have the "Bestest Wife" so for this year Christmas I made a scrapbook page called the Bestest Wife with a poem I wrote and had my brother-in-law sign. It was very touching and she truly is his rock thought out this trying time.
The poem reads:

You are my angel,
You are my rock,
You are my footprints in the sand....…

Words can not express
the comfort that I feel.
When you are with me through
rough times and good times
in doesn’t matter.

You are my angel,
You are my rock,
You are my footprints in the sand....…

No matter what happens in our lives
you are there to pick me up
and help me find the courage
to fight the fight!

You are my angel,
You are my rock,
You are my footprints in the sand..........

The page is made from Stampin' Up Sending Love Specialty paper, cut the letters out with Storybook cartridge, tag was out of Base camp cartridge, and the circle was cut from the Simple Sweet cartridge. I have submitted it to the Cricut Circle Monthly Challenge.

winter pictures

Wintery day good day to make Christmas cards!

It was a wintery day in Wisconsin so it gave me a chance to get my Christmas Cards done. My cards this year were done using my Cricut Imagine and do I love it. This was the first time I had the opportunity to really play.
The first card:
I used the cricut imagine cartridge snow angels.
The patterned paper was make with the cricut.
Snow flakes were made with the cricut expression with the winter lace cartridge.
Chocolate chip Stampin Up card stock was used for the oval and again I used Tim Holtz snowflake sleeve for the embossed background.
The second card:
I used the cricut imagine cartridge snow angel and Tags, bags, boxes and more
Some of the card stock used was Bazzill Basic Paper Currant sensation and the other red is Stampin Up Cherry Cobbler.
Used chocolate chip card stock for the larger oval and the smaller oval used Baja breeze card stock both from Stampin Up. The green back ground was embossed with Tim Holtz Snowflake sleeve and the card stock is from Gina K.

The verse inside is from Penny Back Stamps.
verse: " May the joy of the Holidays fill your Heart"

I hope you enjoyed looking and thanks so much for stopping by!

Been Awhile

With the holidays coming to fast and projects left to do I haven't had time to post anything new. I did go to a girls night out and made some Stampin' Up project that I will be posting soon. Hoping to get my holiday cards done and in the mail this week.
My major project this holiday season is a cookbook for my mom to give to family and friends. She wrote all her favorite recipes and I tried my luck at digital scrapbooking them. I took it to the printer and some of the recipes didn't copy very well so now I'm back to the computer and typing the ones that were to light to read. When all said and done it should be a great keepsake for family and friends.
Until next time take care and I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday season!
